Cafe Rouge is a large chain of French restaurants across the UK. We visited the branch at Heathrow Terminal 4 while waiting for a flight. It is landside, in departures, so not difficult to get to; however as one of a very limited number of options, it is difficult to get seats. We managed to get a table outside the main seating area which felt a bit corridor like. An international staff seems appropriate for the airport – they were efficient and I heard them speaking several languages with customers (though if by a miracle you have found this site and are reading this, then you probably don’t need to have translation).

Fiancée had a sirloin steak, served with pepper sauce, garlic butter and chips. The steak was done to her liking, and the chips and sauces were both good. I had a couple of starters: croquettes of peas and broad beans served in sour cream with peas and little peppers (good but not great) and a Brie soufflé which was tasty but small, and didn’t really go with the apple chutney it was presented with.

The food was quite expensive for portion size, as you are a captive market. If you are dropping someone off, then maybe it’s worth a visit, but if you are travelling I bet there are better places airside.
