Darjeeling would be an average curry house in Britain, but it isn’t too bad for Belgium. Of course it suffers from the usual Belgian dislike of spice. I went for the vegetarian set meal, which was pretty filling and alright value for 22 euro, as it contained a starter, 2 vegetable curries, a naan, an apero maison (house cocktail) and a coffee. If you prefer a la carte, starters are about 6 euro; meat and fish main dishes 15 euro; vegetarian mains 9 euro; and beers are about 4 euro.

Address: 160 rue Stevin

Directions: Schuman metro (1 or 5). Take Rue Archimede off the roundabout, then left along Stevin.
