The owner of this bar thinks it’s a lot cooler than it really is. It’s a Portuguese place, with a rather good house white. The decor is… tacky. Lots of flat screen tvs advertising various promotions; fake soundproofing wallpaper on the toilet doors; pebble fires; fake candles on the table… you might get the picture. In addition, the first time I went there, they played the first Nouvelle Vague album on a loop. Great album, but a little much. Downstairs they advertise a Latin club night – that actually seems to be a geriatric salsa class. It’s not a *bad* place, it’s just a bit overpriced (20 euro for the house wine) and very pretentious. I haven’t eaten there, but the food always looked reasonable.
