A rare and short nightlife tip from me today. I recently revisited the SkyBar on top of the Traders Hotel for the first time in 6 years. It hasn’t changed much, as it still sells moderately to very expensive drinks, to be enjoyed while sitting in comfy chairs overlooking the Petronas towers if you have booked, or less comfy chairs overlooking the other direction if you haven’t.
There is a big pool in the middle which guests are allowed to use, though I’ve never seen anyone in it. Staff are fine, and the cocktails are rather good. There are some bored looking African and Russian prostitutes too, in case the scenery isn’t spectacular enough.
Drinks were good: the Selangor Sling is the local take on the Singapore classic, using hibiscus instead of cherry, and it is a huge improvement. Floral, sharp, then floral again. Really nice. Old Fashioned was a good example of this timeless favourite. Open every day until 1am, or 3am at weekends.
Address: Level 33, Traders Hotel, Jalan Pinang, 50088 Kuala Lumpur
