M2C Cafe is opposite the side entrance to the War Remnants Museum. M2C stands for Modern Meets Culture, and fittingly it is a very modern and stylish place which does a range of coffees, fresh juices, sodas, cakes, ice cream and small meals. We popped in for a drink and a cake to unwind after the museum. Staff were friendly except one who didn’t want people lying on the day bed (why have one then?!). Drinks were mixed, pardon the expression, and food was OK. There are two more branches in HCMC.

Relax soda was a refreshing lime, ginger and lemongrass drink, while Meet soda was meant to be calamansi and sour plum – it tasted like a slightly fruity brine. I normally don’t mind drinks with a bit of salt, but this was too much. Black Forest cake didn’t have the kirsch taste, but was quite nice for a chocolate cake; chilli and passion fruit ice cream was creamy but not strongly flavoured.
