This must be one of the smallest reviews to transfer over: Sarkies is one of the restaurants in the Eastern and Oriental hotel (along with Sarkies Corner, Farquhar’s bar, 1885, and Planter’s Lounge). It’s mostly for hotel guests, but punters can pay a lot for a luxurious buffet breakfast – just over RM50 per person. There is indoor and outdoor seating, all of which is quite busy. It’s pleasant enough.
Staff ok – very rushed, so tricky to get coffee (which was awful anyway, so maybe they were trying to help!). Items started running out quite early, which was a shame. Food was a large mix of Asian and Western food, and that which lasted was quite good. If I had been staying at the hotel, I’d have been happy with it. On its own, it’s probably too expensive to do this as anything other than a treat, but if you do, get there early.
