Mini-nostalgia today! The Junction has been a music venue in Cambridge for nearly thirty years. I used to go for club nights, but hadn’t been for about 10 years until I visited recently to see a local band. It hasn’t changed much, with an octagonal central area for about 800 people, black paint on almost all surfaces, and good acoustics. There is a cloakroom (£2 per coat) and a reasonably priced bar. It has three buildings now, with a couple of smaller seated or open spaces, though I only visited Junction 1. You can still go to the long running Warning drum and bass night, which used to be a favourite in my youth!
There are also comedy nights, plays (and pantomime at Christmas) and poetry events, but most nights are for live music. Big acts who play there include the Fun Loving Criminals, Slade, and Doctor Feelgood.
