This Sri Lankan restaurant at the base of G Tower is nicely decorated, with old maps and pretty wall coverings. We went for lunch, and I intend to head back soon to try some of the other food, as perhaps their set meal isn’t too representative of the food overall.
The vegetarian set came with rice, greens, poppadums, coconut chutney, a potato and sweet potato curry (almost like rendang), and two mild curries. With the exception of the potato which was tasty but too small, it was all a little boring.
Two of my colleagues who have lived in Sri Lanka told me that while their lunch was alright, and authentic in looks, it perhaps wasn’t as well flavoured as they would have been used to.
As a side note, the caramelised onion chutney was spicy and delicious, so I think there probably is food here worth visiting for, and I do intend to try to get beneath the surface a bit more. The menu looks like it has more interesting choices, so I will update once I have gone back.
