A very staccato transfer from VT today! This hotel is just 30 seconds away from exit 1 at Ecole Militaire (metro line 8). The room was small, with a small double bed – I’m under six foot, but my feet were over the end – a desk/chair, and a small fridge.

The shower is also small, but powerful enough, although the holder was broken and the shower head fell on my head. Fortunately it was only an inch or so above me so no damage done. The toilet, when flushed, came alarmingly close to overflowing.

The one staff member I met was friendly, but only spoke French. There’s a tv with only French language stations. The lift is tiny.

Eiffel tower view, kinda, Hotel Royal Phare, Paris

The location is excellent, being very close to the metro and the Eiffel Tower. However, it’s not really very good value for money. I’m told it has been refurbished since I visited, though.
