At the base of Perdana PNB, and part of the Attana hospitality group, 10 Binjai is a restaurant doing a local buffet and an a la carte menu with a mix of Malaysian and international dishes.

At lunch, the buffet has a range of meat and fish options along with rice and noodles, plus a salad and dessert bar. On the day, I’m told the green curry and the tofu with chicken mince were the best bits of the buffet.

Friend had bass asam pedas, which was suitably sour and spicy, but nothing too exciting. Another friend thought the pizza was also ok.

Puding Raja, 10 Binjai, Kuala Lumpur

As the vegetarian sandwich had run out and I didn’t want pizza, I went for puding raja, royal pudding. When I had this in the past at the Majestic Hotel, it was banana and dried fruit in a sweet custard, with little strands of something. It turns out those strands were egg yolk noodles, and this version of puding raja had lots – so much so it was almost like fruit omelette! I still liked it, and research tells me this is actually a more traditional type than the one I had tried before.

Pineapple mint, 10 Binjai, Kuala Lumpur

Pineapple mint drink did what it said it would and was very tasty.

Interior, 10 Binjai, Kuala Lumpur

The restaurant itself feels like a hotel breakfast room – in fact, I think it is – clinical, but not unpleasant. Staff were good, if overworked, with only one poor lady covering the outdoor section where we sat. Overall, everyone agreed that the food was quite good, but just quite a bit more expensive than it justified.
